Q&A with Dr Terry Simpson

Dr Terry Simpson Phoenix Award

Dr. Terry Simpson & his wife, April.

When Dr. Terry Simpson first stated, ‘I turned in my surgical scrubs for an apron,’ on TV he was changing the future of the weight loss industry. He was emphasizing the fact that an important adjunct to weight loss  surgery was food.He found that rebuilding their diet, including helping  them learn to shop and cook in a healthy way increased weight loss from surgery and helped sustain that weight loss.

In addition to performing weight loss surgery (of all types) he sits on the board of the Alaska Native Medical Center, and Southcentral Foundation, whose healthcare system is relationship based and received two Malcom Baldrige awards – the only healthcare system to do so.

Known by many as the television doctor from Tampa’s Daytime TV show, he is prolific in various other forms of media and has been quoted in Huffington Post, Rolling Stone, and other outlets  including Twitter, Facebook, books, speaking engagements and websites. Terry is a true Twitter guru with over 90,000 tweets on his accounts, @terrysimpson & @drterrysimpson.
